Was I too mean???

Okay, my best friend did a rotten thing! One night when she was over at my house, and she found this old journal I had about three years ago. She read the entire contents and made copies. Then she showed it to somebody I kinda bashed in it. (she’s my friend now!) Acouple of weeks later, I used a paper shredder on it, put it in a bag, and put it in her locker at school. She wanted it, and now she’s got it! We don’t speak anymore. Was she mean in the first place? Was my reaction a little extreme? Help me, guys!

do you actually have to ask this? you weren’t rotten at all! almost everyone i know would’ve done WAY more than shred the paper.
friends that can’t keep their boundary in what you’ve told them and what they don’t know,are always gonna be trouble. now,you can no longer trust her…..and not only that, but your personal (old) journal has been exposed to your other friend. now, she thinks you’re a backstabber and never really was her friend. you’re going to have to tell her that the journal’s old and that you had it way before you two were friends. hopefully, she’ll understand…and believe you. you need to ditch the other friend. she’s not a real friend at all.
